Another trick to help yourself stop eating for emotional reasons is to commit to eating three meals and two snacks a day for three straight days and seeing what happens when you return to your normal “grazing” patterns. You will likely find you do not need to graze because you are plenty full and do not need extra food.

Additional Tips

Finding healthy outlets for stress and anxiety will also help you stop reaching for donuts. Exercise, meditation, spending more time with friends and family, reading, and taking up hobbies are among the best tricks for eating only when you are hungry.
