The celebrity is making headlines again due to his engagement to model Blac Chyna, with the pair expecting a baby girl in November. Type 2 Diabetes Hospitalization

The reality star was hospitalized due to his type 2 diabetes last December, as he was refusing to take insulin. Kardashian says it was the “big-time scare” he needed.

“When I got out of the hospital, I knew I needed to make changes,” he tells People, adding that despite reports of drug addiction, he was “only addicted to living life. And sugar, cranberry juice specifically.

“Chyna and I had a really big talk and she told me that by having her cook for me, my diabetes would be gone,” he says. “And it is.”

Fluctuating Weight

Kardashian lost 30 pounds but ended up gaining 20 of it back. He admits that achieving his goal weight of 210 pounds is challenging while his fiance is pregnant.

“But [it’s hard] because she’s pregnant and eats whatever she wants,” he says, “and I enjoy eating with her.”

Making Healthy Choices

“The way I dealt with my issues maybe wasn’t the best, but nobody can make me happy but me,” he says. “Now I want to see everybody in my family every chance I get. You never know what is going to happen tomorrow, and I don’t want to do that to my mom.”

Kardashian hopes his infamous 100-pound weight gain will become a distant memory. He now swears by cardio workouts, eliminating fast food and other unhealthy carbs, and of course his bride-to-be’s cooking.
