The Challenge

The idea behind this new weight loss obsession is it gives you 80 days to create a “healthy foundation for fitness” before challenging yourself with more extreme workouts. The program comes from Calabrese’s Beachbody website, where the program was filmed in real time.

Intense Workouts

The 80-Day Obsession features high-intensity workouts lasting from 30 to 60 minutes, so prepare to sweat if you take up the challenge. You will work out six days a week and focus on a different body part each day, such as the arms, legs, abs, and glutes. Each workout phase increases in difficulty so you do not plateau.

"They're designed to be intense, you have to be uncomfortable to make progress," Calabrese said. "Expect a variety of things, expect that your heart will be pumping, your muscles will be burning, and you'll be sweating and laughing, too."

A Nutritional Component

Calabrese also offers a nutrition component of the program to help her customers make better food decisions.

"Simply eating the right macronutrients (proteins, carbs and fats) at the right times to help fuel your workouts, build muscle and recover from workouts while maintaining your metabolism and energy levels,” the website says. Participants eat small meals every two to three hours instead of counting calories.
