Tips For Running In Cold Weather

Dress In Layers

Wear several thin layers of clothing rather than one or two thick layers. Thin clothing pieces do a much better job of trapping heat than one thick piece. The cold can trick you into thinking you are more hydrated than you are, which is especially dangerous since cold air is so drying. Drink water before, during, and after your run to keep dehydration at bay. Use a belt water bottle so you never have to worry about a lack of liquid.

Another cold weather running tip? Do not stay in wet clothes! Take them off as soon as you are finished to avoid hypothermia.
