4 unhealthy drinks you need to avoid

What you drink is just as important to weight loss as what you eat. There are a variety of extremely unhealthy beverages that should be avoided for overall health as well as weight loss reasons.

Review some of the most harmful beverages as you remake your diet with Phentermine 37.5mg

Frappacinos

Ordering frappuccinos in the morning might provide an energy boost, but doing so can seriously harm your weight loss efforts. A 16-ounce serving of the beverage contains 47 grams of sugar, and since there’s only 15 milligrams of caffeine, the “energy boost” you get is sugar-related.

Diet Fountain Sodas

Diet sodas were marketed as the weight loss-friendly alternative to regular soda, but are just as bad if not worse for your waistline and health.

“Diet fountain beverages still add saccharin, a potential carcinogen, to sweeten them. Saccharin can also cause allergies and reactions such as diarrhea and headaches,” says Heidi Moretti, RD. “Unfortunately, these fountain drinks also contain aspartame as well, which is harmful to the gut microbiome and tends to be related to people having more belly fat.”

Sunkist Fruit Punch

This drink contains no fruit, but does feature plenty of inflammatory ingredients, including high fructose corn syrup and Red 40. The latter ingredient might have carcinogenic properties. Sunkist Fruit Punch also contains 80 grams of sugar and 300 calories with every 20-ounce serving.

Naked Boosted Probiotic Machine Tropical Mango

The “naked” drink seems like a healthy drink option, but it’s actually the exact opposite.

“At 280 calories, this smoothie makes up nearly the entire calories needed for one meal or snack, and out of the 66 grams of carbs, 53 grams are added sugar!” says Kelsey Pezzuti, MS, RD. “It has a bit of protein and fiber but not nearly enough to prevent blood sugar from spiking or keep you feeling full.”
