4 Bad Habits That Cause Weight Gain - Drtohelp.com

While there are many healthy habits that promote fast weight loss, there are just as many that cause weight gain. To help your efforts with Phentermine 37.5mg, learn about some of the worst habits to avoid.

Not Considering the Sodium Level

The sodium content in your food can hinder weight loss, as it contributes to bloat.

“Americans consume, on average, about 50% more than the daily recommended intake of salt, and most of the excess sodium is coming from processed foods like frozen waffles, bagels, cheese cottage cheese, veggie burgers and salad dressings,” says Michelle Loy, MPH, MS, CSSD.

Trying Extreme Diets

Fad diets never work in the long term.

“Often diets that cut out entire food groups do not allow for the balance and moderation we need to follow a healthy, lifelong eating plan,” says registered dietitian Lori Zanini, RD, CDE. “Plus, dieters who follow these plans may be prone to potentially dangerous nutritional deficiencies. Or they may simply get bored with their restricted plan and end up overeating down the road.”

Cutting Out All Fat

Some types of fat are healthy and important for weight loss.

“Fats not only help us absorb many of the vitamins from our diets, but they also help keep us fuller longer, which can aid weight loss efforts,” explains Zanini.

Avoid saturated and trans fat, both of which contribute to weight gain and increase your risk of other health problems, including high cholesterol and heart disease.

Having a Drink at the End of the Day

Drinking alcohol most nights is not helpful to weight loss.

“Alcohol can make you drowsy, but it inhibits your ability to get quality deep sleep later at night. Ideally, don’t have any drinks 90 to 120 minutes before bedtime. This will allow enough time for your body to metabolize alcohol before your body transitions into the deep stages of sleep,” says Dr. Mike Roussell, PhD.
