As summer draws closer, many people intensify their diet and exercise regimen. In addition to taking Phentermine 37.5mg to help your summer slimdown efforts, put these eating tips from nutrition experts into practice.
Don’t Focus on Restriction
Make healthy changes instead of depriving yourself.
“If you think cutting carbs is the most effective, but it makes you die inside, don’t do it,” says registered dietician Georgie Fear. “If you can find something that brings positive emotions, that’s the thing to do.”
She suggests things like going for walks instead of eating chips after work, or talking with friends instead of consuming something sweet when you’ve had a trying day.
“Many people end up eating when they’re not hungry. There are so many needs we can mistakenly plug food into and there’s much better solutions,” she notes.
Drink in Moderation
Limit your alcohol intake, or cut it out completely for a while.
“We don’t always think about the calories we sip as much as the ones we chew,” says registered dietician and nutritionist Bonnie Taub-Dix.
Alcohol not only contains empty calories, it lowers your inhibitions to make poor food choices more likely. If you feel the ill effects of drinking the next morning, you’ll likely make additional “bad food” choices, such as fried fare, to feel better. Should you not want to give up alcohol, opt for moderation and drinks cut with seltzers, fruit, or herbal infusions. They contain less alcohol and therefore fewer calories.
Take Advantage of Fresh Produce
Enjoy eating with the seasons by purchasing low-calorie, high-fiber produce at local farmers’ markets. There’s lots of fruits and veggies to select from, all of which help you consume more nutrient-dense whole foods. You don’t have to cut out animal products; however, eating them in moderation is best.
“Plants should have the starring role of your diet, with animal products being the supporting cast,” says Taub-Dix.
